35,000 40,000 per annum (DOE) + Overtime

Overview

An established independent garage is looking to recruit a skilled MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician to join their close-knit workshop team.

This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for a mix of MOT testing, servicing, diagnostics, and general vehicle repairs, working across a range of vehicles with a strong focus on quality workmanship rather than volume.

The environment suits a qualified, apprenticeship-trained technician who takes pride in their work and can operate with a good level of autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct MOT tests in line with DVSA standards (if licensed)
• Perform vehicle servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs
• Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs
• Work from job cards and workshop schedules efficiently
• Ensure all work is completed to high quality and safety standards
• Support general workshop operations and maintain a clean working environment
• Communicate effectively with team members and management

Requirements (Essential)

• Qualified Vehicle Technician (apprenticeship trained or equivalent)
• Proven experience in servicing, maintenance, and repairs
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
• MOT Tester Licence (advantageous but not essential)
• Experience working with VAG group vehicles (Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, Skoda)

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday: 08:00 17:30
• Occasional Saturdays (as required)
