Occupation: Production Manager (Manufacturing)

Hours Per week: 38
Salary: A$115,000 plus superannuation
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver strategic business outcomes.
• Provide leadership, development and coaching to a team of staff to meet performance expectations and participate in people and culture initiatives.
• Manage the financial and production operations and site operations to ensure the delivery of reliable production and sales plans that reflect site capability and deliver against the agreed business targets.
• The efficient management of liaison between all facets of the business from logging to product delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Ensuring the site achieves best practice standards for Risk, Environmental, and Health and Safety Management.
• Manage and oversee site compliance with all legislative requirements.
• Lead by example and influence people to develop engaging, trusting and collaborative working relationships.
• Assist with the development of comprehensive business performance.
• Measure and monitor operational and capital expenditure in accordance to approved budgets.
• Oversee and monitor site safety activity to ensure:
All employees understand WH&S policies, procedures and SWP;
Regular WH&S training is undertaken and site inductions for employees/contractors is completed;
Risk assessments are undertaken and relevant mitigation actions implemented;
Incidents and near misses are reported in accordance with WH&S policies and procedures and analysed to identify improvement initiatives;
Process improvements to mitigate risk.
• Identify and assist in the implementation of strategies to optimise site operations with the aim of increasing margins production capacity and driving revenue growth for the business.
• Drive the long-term performance of the business through the implementation of approved capital development and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with a range of stakeholders including customers, clients, suppliers, contractors, and local community representatives.
• Drive continuous improvement though the identification of improvement processes and initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualifications in Business (or a related field) or demonstrated management experience.
• Timber/Forestry industry experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing and supervising large and dispersed teams of people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• A high level of understanding of sawmill operations with a focus on safety, quality and efficient and sustainable production processes.
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with others to achieve strategic business outcomes.
• High level computer skills including MS Office, previous experience utilising planning optimization software.
• Must hold a current Driver’s Licence.
