SUMMARY
National Facilities Management Pty Ltd manages a large portfolio of residential and commercial buildings across multiple locations in Australia. The Cyber Security Advice and Assessment Specialist is responsible for providing specialist cyber security advice, assessing risks across distributed systems and databases, and implementing security strategies to protect information systems, remote access environments, and client data across the organisation’s multi-site operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
o Develop and manage the organization’s ICT security policies to ensure robust preventive and recovery strategies are in place across all NSW-managed sites.
o Conduct continuous monitoring of network traffic and system logs to detect and respond to unauthorized access or security breaches.
o Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on both corporate IT networks and connected building automation systems.
o Lead the technical response to security incidents, including investigation of breaches, forensic analysis, and the execution of disaster recovery protocols.
o Implement and manage backup systems and recovery processes, conduct routine preventive maintenance, and enforce security measures to protect data and maintain system integrity.
o Evaluate and authorize security software and hardware from third-party vendors, ensuring all IoT devices integrated into managed facilities meet corporate encryption standards.
o Maintain comprehensive logs of security incidents and update operational procedures to reflect evolving global cyber threat landscapes.
o Secure the interface between Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT), ensuring that internet-connected facility devices (elevators, HVAC, smart lighting) do not provide a gateway for lateral movement into the corporate database.
o Safeguard sensitive client data stored within the FM platform, including blueprint schematics, security protocols for high-security buildings, and tenant personal information.
o Identify and resolve hardware and software issues affecting servers, workstations and network communication systems, providing technical support to minimise operational disruptions.
o Create and update technical documentation, policies and procedural manuals, while maintaining accurate records of operational activities and system logs.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or Computer Science
• A minimum of 12 months of relevant post-qualification experience
• Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk/Sentinel), Firewall management (Palo Alto/Fortinet), and IoT security frameworks.
• CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ (highly regarded to prove skill level)
• Demonstrated experience in cyber security advisory, system security assessment, or ICT risk management
• Strong knowledge of database security, network security, access control, and disaster recovery planning
• Experience working with distributed or multi-site IT environments
