Full-Time Chef
Salary $73,000 to $83,000 plus Superannuation
Brotzeit Joondalup is seeking a qualified and experienced full-time Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality food, maintaining kitchen standards, and supporting efficient operations in a busy restaurant.
Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:
• Monitor and ensure the preparation, cooking and presentation of all dishes to an exceptional standard across all menus
• Assist in selecting and training staff to ensure smooth operations of the kitchen
• Influence and monitor food costs via portion control, waste minimisation and stock control
• Ensure food and labour costs are estimated appropriately, and stocks are ordered in a timely manner
• Assist in menu review and provide suggestions in designing menus
• Ensure special dietary requirements, including allergy-related requests, are adhered to
• Actively maintain awareness for nutrition and healthy eating
• Ensure safe food production measures and food safety guidelines are explained to kitchen staff and are adhered to
• Communicate relevant issues and concerns to relevant kitchen and floor staff, Managers and Directors in a timely manner.
Qualification & Experience
• We are looking for a qualified Chef with relevant industry qualifications such as Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/Kitchen Management and Diploma of Hospitality or equivalent vocational qualifications.
• Minimum one year of full-time work experience as a Chef or equivalent experience in a similar role. A Food Safety Certificate qualification is highly desirable.
Candidates must be:
• Well presented, punctual, hardworking and able to work well under pressure
• Be flexible with days of work, including weekdays and weekends
• Have excellent culinary skills
• Ability to work positively, proactively and safely work alone as well as be team-oriented and be able to work with other kitchen and restaurant staff
• Attention to strong standards of hygiene and adherence to food safety practices
