Job Overview
Prime Route is seeking a reliable and experienced Depot and Fleet Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of our fleet and depot operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient vehicle operations, effective driver coordination, and full compliance with UK transport regulations while maintaining high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of fleet operations, including vehicle maintenance, servicing, and compliance checks.
Oversee depot activities to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.
Coordinate delivery schedules and optimise routes to maximise efficiency and minimise delays.
Manage and liaise with self-employed drivers, ensuring clear communication and performance monitoring.
Maintain compliance with UK transport and road safety regulations.
Coordinate with suppliers and service providers for vehicle maintenance, repairs, and operational needs.
Monitor fleet performance and operational costs to improve efficiency and service quality.
Maintain accurate records relating to vehicles, drivers, maintenance, and compliance.
Implement operational improvements to enhance productivity and reliability.
Requirements
Previous experience in fleet management, depot management, or logistics operations.
Strong knowledge of UK transport regulations and fleet compliance requirements.
Excellent organisational and scheduling skills.
Ability to manage drivers and coordinate multiple operational tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in basic fleet management systems and Microsoft Office.
