Job Description
Operational Maintenance
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy construction equipment (excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, graders, etc.)
- Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Conduct routine servicing (oil changes, lubrication, hydraulic checks, tire/track inspections).
Technical Repairs
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical system issues.
- Replace or repair defective parts such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic pumps.
- Use diagnostic tools and manuals to identify faults accurately.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all equipment is safe to operate and meets regulatory standards.
- Maintain proper documentation of repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
- Follow safety protocols when handling tools, machinery, and hazardous materials.
Support to Construction Operations
- Provide on-site mechanical support to minimize project delays.
- Coordinate with equipment operators and site supervisors to schedule repairs.
- Advise management on equipment condition, repair costs, and replacement needs.
Inventory & Resource Management
- Manage spare parts inventory and requisition needed supplies.
- Maintain records of tools, parts, and consumables used in repairs.
- Suggest cost-effective solutions for equipment upkeep.
Teamwork & Training
- Assist in training operators on proper equipment use and basic troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with other mechanics, foremen, and safety officers to ensure smooth operations.
- Mentor junior mechanics and helpers in repair techniques and safety practices.
