Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Shop Technician to join our Kansas City team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with their hands, has an eye for detail, and takes pride in craftsmanship. The Shop Technician will perform refinishing, restoration, and repair of doors in our shop while ensuring projects meet the high-quality standards Door Renew is known for.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare doors for refinishing, including stripping old finishes, sanding, and minor repairs.
Apply stains, sealants, and marine-grade finishes with precision and consistency.
Operate shop tools and equipment safely (sanders, sprayers, etc.).
Assist with loading/unloading doors for transport between customer homes and the shop.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
Follow company processes to ensure consistent, high-quality results.
Communicate effectively with the sales and customer service team to ensure accurate project execution.
Occasionally assist with pickup or delivery of customer doors.
Qualifications

Previous experience in woodworking, painting, refinishing, or related trades is preferred (training will be provided).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and finishing equipment.
Physical ability to lift and move doors (with assistance).
Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn.
Valid driver’s license preferred.
