Position: Befriending & Companionship Support Worker

Job Description

Azile Medical, a leading recruitment agency are currently seeking a reliable Tamil-speaking support worker (female preferred) to provide befriending and companionship for an elderly Sri Lankan couple in their 80s, based in Southeast London.

This role is particularly suited to someone with excellent communication skills in Tamil, as this is essential for connecting meaningfully with the couple. The wife has dementia, and the family are looking for someone who can offer both practical support and friendly companionship through a 1-hour daily visit.

Key Responsibilities

Providing warm, respectful companionship, conversing and engaging with the couple in Tamil or Malayalam

Assisting with light tidying and household tasks, supporting the couple with daily living activities as needed

We are looking for candidates who are empathetic and enjoy building strong relationships with older adults. Experience in dementia care or working with older people is desirable but not essential.
