Duties
• Safely operate Class A commercial trucks with manual transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws
• Load and unload heavy equipment, machinery, or freight using appropriate tools when necessary
• Transport a variety of cargo including heavy machinery, construction equipment, on flatbeds trailers
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
• Plan efficient routes for timely deliveries while managing route driving schedules effectively
• Secure loads properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit and perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles
• Communicate professionally with team members to coordinate pickups and deliveries
Qualifications
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record
• Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with tractor-trailers or similar large vehicles
• Hands-on experience with load & unload procedures for heavy equipment
• Familiarity with operating manual transmission trucks and various trailer types such as flatbed, dump truck
• Ability to handle specialized equipment like loaders, backhoes,etc when required for loading or unloading
• Strong knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy equipment transport and road safety regulations
• Excellent route planning skills with the ability to adapt to changing schedules or road conditions
