Lecturer, School of Education
SALARY $98,500 per year plus Superannuation
DUTIES
• The Lecturer is primarily a teaching and assessing role. As a teaching role, this position is responsible for preparing and delivering subjects as allocation and marking assessment for the students in the allocated class.
• This role must work to ensure students are provided with the best opportunity to attain learning outcomes and satisfactorily complete their assessment tasks, including through student consultation.
• Teach and facilitate learning in an engaging and dynamic manner, via on-campus, digital methodologies, and the student learning system.
• Facilitate student engagement, consultation, and communication of student issues to relevant Ikon teams.
• Engage in weekly subject forums and discussions.
• Mark, assess and provide feedback on all student assessments within specific timeframes utilising the online comparison and generative AI detection software provided by Ikon.
• Participate in subject review, moderation and benchmarking activities as required.
• Attend periodic faculty meetings, subject meetings and student consultations as required.
• Complete and submit all trimester teaching and learning reporting requirements as determined by the Head of School, Academic Course Coordinator or Dean.
• Assist in ensuring that academic operations are conducted in accordance with the AQF, ESOS and the National Code.
• Undertake and engage in scholarly practice and professional development as determined by the Head of School, Academic Course Coordinator or Dean.
• Adhere to Ikon’s guidelines, policies and practices to achieve its performance objectives.
• Other general duties as determined by the Head of School
REQUIRED SKILLS
• A master’s degree or higher in Education (essential).
• At least 3 years of tertiary teaching experience (essential).
• Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering lectures, tutorials, and student support services for undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs in Education, Early Childhood, or TESOL/EAL.
• Proven ability to develop course materials and assessment tools that align with AQF levels and TEQSA/ESOS standards.
• Experience supervising research projects or capstone assignments and mentoring early-career academics or tutors.
• Ability to liaise with academic and support teams to ensure student progression, academic integrity, and continuous improvement of programs.
• Experience in diverse delivery modes (on-campus, blended, and online), including proficiency with LMS platforms, digital tools, and AI-integrated marking systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with capacity to contribute to curriculum development and faculty activities.
