The Role:
Calibre is seeking a motivated and experienced Motor Mechanic, responsible for executing a variety of essential tasks including:
Key Responsibilities:
-Perform general mechanical repairs and routine servicing on light vehicles, 4WDs, and heavy vehicles (trucks and trailers).
-Conduct advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting using state-of-the-art equipment to identify and fix mechanical and electrical issues.
-Perform diesel-specific repairs and maintenance on a variety of engines.
-Carry out expert wheel alignments, including checking camber, toe, caster, and thrust angles.
-Execute steering and suspension repairs and maintenance.
-Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of safety and quality, utilizing premium parts and fluids.
-Maintain a clean and organized workspace within our fully-equipped workshop.
-Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation.
-Provide training and mentorship to apprentices and junior team members.
-Liaise with service advisors or clients to provide technical recommendations and updates.
What We’re Looking For:
-Relevant trade qualifications and certifications: Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent).
-At least 3 years’ experience in mechanical workshops.
-High level of mechanical aptitude & problem-solving ability.
-Motivated, passionate and an excellent positive attitude.
-Experience in doing wheel alignments.
-Experience in suspension & steering work.
-Ability to work alongside Apprentices.
