About the Role
We are a specialist Japanese language school focused on adult education, delivering structured Japanese language programs to a diverse student cohort. Due to continued growth and strong enrolments, we are seeking a suitably qualified Japanese Teacher to join our teaching team.
The role involves delivering Japanese language classes to adult learners in small group settings, following an established curriculum and teaching framework. Training and academic support are provided; however, teachers are expected to demonstrate strong adaptability and the ability to engage adult learners effectively.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver Japanese language classes to adult learners in groups of up to 8 students
• Teach in accordance with the school’s approved curriculum and lesson plans
• Prepare and deliver engaging, structured lessons suited to adult learners
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
• Maintain accurate class records and attendance
• Participate in training, academic meetings, and professional development activities
• Foster an inclusive, positive, and motivating learning environment.
Skills and Experience Required
A minimum of 1 Year experience teaching Japanese as a foreign language, preferably to adult learners
High-level proficiency in spoken and written Japanese, appropriate for instructional delivery
Ability to explain Japanese language concepts clearly to non-native speakers
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage small group classes effectively
Adaptability and willingness to align with established curriculum and teaching methods
Qualifications
Mandatory - A Japanese Teacher Certificate with an additional bachelor-level qualification in education/linguistics/communication or equivalent.
