Job Description

The driver will be responsible for picking up and transporting goods from the warehouse to customers in a safe, timely and professional manner. The role focuses on reliability, customer service, and efficient route management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Load and unload items/packages into the delivery vehicle carefully to prevent damage.

2. Plan and follow efficient delivery routes using GPS/navigation apps to optimize time and fuel.

3. Deliver items to customers homes, offices, or specified locations on schedule.

4. Verify orders for accuracy and condition before and during delivery.

5. Provide excellent customer service: interact politely, obtain signatures when required, handle basic issues (e.g., wrong address or damaged goods), and represent the company positively.

6. Collect payments (cash, digital, or upon delivery) when applicable.

7. Maintain the delivery vehicle: perform basic checks (fuel, tires, cleanliness), report issues, and ensure it's roadworthy.

8. Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations and company policies.

9. Keep accurate records of deliveries, including logs, proof of delivery and any incidents.

10. Manage multiple orders/deliveries in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak hours.

Required Skills and Qualifications

1. Valid driver's license.

2. Good knowledge of local geography/roads (Abuja traffic experience is a big plus in Nigeria!).

3. Strong time management and organizational skills to meet tight delivery windows.

4. Excellent customer service and communication abilities (polite, patient, and problem-solving oriented).

5. Physical fitness to lift/carry packages (often 10 30 kg or more).

6. Basic smartphone proficiency (for apps, GPS, order tracking, and payments).

7. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Typical Requirements

1. Minimum age: usually 18 21+

2. No formal education required, though a high school certificate can help.

3. Clean criminal/background check.
