Full time Mechanical Engineer
Salary Range: $77,716 per annum plus superannuation

Duties:
• Conducting Engineering design, analysis, and Mechanical engineering calculations for plastic components, assemblies, and mechanical systems.
• Developing and reviewing technical drawings, 3D models, and engineering documentation using CAD/CAM tools.
• Reviewing engineering specifications, material standards, and plastic material datasheets to establish mechanical and quality requirements and supported design engineers by providing feedback on manufacturability, material suitability, tolerance requirements, tooling constraints, and potential quality risks.
• Developing and implementing Quality Assurance (QA) procedures, inspection plans, and testing protocols for plastic and machined components.
• Identifying mechanical defects and process issues, conducted root cause analysis (RCA), and applied corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Working with engineering and production teams to review new product releases, evaluate engineering changes, and improve manufacturing processes.
• Using CAD/CAM software to generate mechanical drawings, verify tolerances, and support tooling and automated equipment programming.
• Investigating and resolving mechanical and manufacturing challenges through structured problem-solving and engineering analysis.
• Liaising with engineering teams, production manager, technical manager, and production staff to support effective implementation of engineering and quality requirements.
• Preparing and maintaining QA reports, inspection records, traceability documentation, and engineering progress reports.
• Inspecting finished products and incoming materials to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
• Ensuring all engineering and QA activities complied with customer specifications, WHS obligations, and applicable Australian Standards.

Skills and Experience:
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• Minimum 3 year of experience
• Knowledge of Epicor ERP I required
• Advanced skills in CAD/CAM software, solidworks, CNC programming, Alphacam.
• Experience in Engineering Plastic is essential.
• Strong understanding of Australian Standards and Regulations relating to mechanical
engineering.
