STORE/RETAIL MANAGER (Full time, Permanent)

Supa IGA Byron Bay owned and operated by K I Retail Group Pty Ltd, is an independent fresh food retailer located in Byron Bay, New South Wales. We are currently seeking a full-time Store Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a Store Management role and possess the ability to oversee store operations, staff management, merchandising, ordering, and stock and inventory control.
- Assume responsibility and demonstrate accountability for overseeing store operations and performance.
- Supervise a high-volume supermarket with a focus on Fresh Foods, ensuring an optimal stock assortment.
- Attain forecasted sales, gross profit, and wage targets.
- Manage pricing, promote sales initiatives, and execute periodic store manager promotions.
- Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements and audit standards.
- Uphold company standards and implement procedures for loss prevention.
- Provide effective leadership to the team, including Departmental Managers.
- Uphold the highest standards of customer service throughout the store.
- Negotiate and uphold favorable business terms with vendors.
- Maintain communication with suppliers, customers, and team members to achieve desired outcomes.
- Drive sales and lead the team to achieve profitable results.
- Engage with the local community and represent the company.
- Recruit, train, develop, and oversee staff performance.
- Maintain records and generate reports for ownership, covering financial accounts, staffing, legislative compliance, and other company activities.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of full-time equivalent retail/store management experience
- Diploma level or higher qualifications in Retail or Management or Merchandizing or Marketing or Business or Accounting or Business Administration.
- An additional 1 year of relevant experience in the absence of a qualification can be considered.
- Outstanding familiarity and proficiency in managing retail supermarkets.
- Exceptional comprehension of stock presentation, loss prevention, and inventory management.
- Possess a customer centric approach.
- Proficient in IT to an intermediate level.
- Possess unrestricted work authorization in Australia.
A competitive annual salary between $76,515 to $80,000+ plus superannuation and company mobile phone will be paid to the right candidate. Terms and conditions will be as per the General Retail Industry Award [MA000004].
