About the Role
Duckys Kitchen Ltd is a growing takeaway and catering business serving high-quality dishes, event catering, and food-truck services across Scotland. We are seeking an Operations Manager who can take full responsibility for daily store operations while also managing and coordinating all catering and event activities.
Key Responsibilities
-Oversee day-to-day operations of the takeaway, including staff supervision, scheduling, stock control, and quality management.
-Plan, manage, and coordinate catering activities such as event stalls, food-truck deployments, and external functions.
-Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene standards, and all legal/licensing requirements.
-Lead staff recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.
-Maintain supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and monitor inventory levels.
-Implement efficient operational systems to improve workflow, reduce waste, and enhance customer satisfaction.
-Monitor daily sales, operational KPIs, and financial performance, and prepare management reports.
-Work closely with the Business Development team to support high-demand periods, event bookings, and promotional activities.
Skills & Experience
-Proven experience in managing a takeaway, restaurant, or catering operation.
-Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
-Excellent organisational and multitasking ability, especially during peak hours and events.
-Good understanding of food hygiene legislation and operational compliance.
-Ability to work independently and make informed decisions under pressure.
