Position: ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING MANAGER
Specialization: TELECOMMUNICATION (TELECOMS)
Location: Abule-Egba (Lagos)
Our client, a leading telecoms servicing company in Lagos, Nigeria, urgently requires the services of a competent, coordinated and dedicated ELECTRICAL ENGINEER in MANAGERIAL capacity to oversee the maintenance of their numerous clients' facilities and coordinate the team to develop new telecoms facilities.
Position Overview
Lead and manage electrical engineering operations for telecommunications infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery of high-quality, compliant systems while driving team performance and strategic technical initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems for telecom facilities including data centers, cell towers, and switching stations
- Ensure power distribution, backup systems (UPS, generators), and grounding meet telecom-specific standards and reliability requirements
- Review and approve electrical designs, load calculations, and equipment specifications for critical telecom infrastructure
- Manage integration of renewable energy solutions and energy efficiency initiatives
Required Qualifications
Education & Licensing
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or MBA will be added advantage
- Active membership of relevant Professional bodies
- RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification
- Experience with 5G infrastructure deployment
- Knowledge of smart grid technology and IoT integration
Experience
- 5+ years in electrical engineering with minimum 3 years in telecommunications sector
- 3+ years in supervisory or management role
- Proven track record managing telecom infrastructure projects
Technical Expertise
- Deep knowledge of telecom power systems: -48VDC systems, rectifiers, battery plants, DC distribution
- Proficient in electrical design software (AutoCAD, SKM PowerTools, ETAP)
- Understanding of fiber optic infrastructure, wireless systems, and data center electrical requirements
- Familiarity with BICSI standards, Uptime Institute tier classifications
