Cook Modern Australian Cuisine
Toodyay Food & Liquor Merchants Pty Ltd is looking for an experienced cook to join our team at a busy restaurant known for serving classic Australian fare and modern, seasonal dishes.
Location: Toodyay, WA
Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: $76,515 to $78,000 p.a. plus super
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, cook, and present a variety of Australian and contemporary dishes.
• Maintain consistent quality, flavour, and presentation standards.
• Manage food preparation, stock rotation, and portion control.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, and storing supplies.
• Support kitchen staff and help train junior team members.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Contribute to menu development and daily specials.
Skills and Requirements
• Minimum 1 year of relevant full time cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
• A relevant Certificate III or IV qualification, or another acceptable trade qualification, or at least two years of relevant experience in lieu.
• Solid knowledge of Australian-style modern cuisine.
• Strong knife skills and sound understanding of cooking techniques.
• Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure.
• Team-oriented with good communication skills.
• Reliable, well-organised, and committed to high standards.
• Understanding of stock control and waste reduction.
• Food Safety Certificate or trade qualification preferred.
