FULL TIME TEACHER DIRECTOR/NOMINATED SUPERVISOR
Role Title: Teacher (Primary or Early Childhood) Director/Nominated Supervisor
Salary $100,000 to $120,000 per annum + Superannuation
The Teacher Director, known as the Nominated Supervisor within the sector, is responsible for managing all day-to-day aspects of the Saint’s Academy operations and provide leadership ensuring high quality education and care provision.
To a large degree, this Primary teaching or Early Childhood-based teaching position will be tailored to suit the successful candidate’s skills and expertise in an educational leadership role, which includes leading a team of educators with complimentary skills to successfully implement the high-quality and innovative educational program (mentioned above).
This role is responsible for:
The Teacher Director, known as the Nominated Supervisor within the sector, is responsible for managing all day-to-day aspects of the Saint’s Academy operations and provide leadership ensuring high quality education and care provision.
This role is responsible for:
• Daily ratios, including organising staffing accordingly.
• Educational program in accordance with the Saints Academy vision and philosophy.
• Presenting prescribed curriculum (My Time Our Place Learning Framework) using a range of teaching techniques and materials.
• Teaching literacy, numeracy, social science, creative expression and physical education skills to primary school students in non-traditional ways within the unique Saints Academy core learning program
• Developing students' interests, abilities and coordination by way of creative activities.
• Guiding discussions and supervising learning within the Saints Academy learning environments.
• Preparing and administering real-world projects evaluate students' progress and giving feedback to extend their learning.
• Discussing individual progress and problems with students and parents, and seeking advice from Student Counsellors and senior teachers/leaders.
• Maintaining discipline in in all learning environments.
• Participating in staff meetings, educational conferences and workshops.
• Liaising with parent, community and business groups.
• Maintaining teacher-based records.
• Performing extra-curricular tasks such as assisting with school expo’s open days, fairs, school concerts, excursions and special interest programs.
• Supervising young educators and student teachers on placement or work experience.
• Overseeing the physical facilities through a lens of educational function, aesthetics, risk and compliance.
• Supervision and safety of children with an understanding of risk, compliance and wellbeing of children.
• Organising excursions and incursions, and all related arranging, primarily for Vacation programs.
• Food and beverage.
• The medical needs of children including, administration of medications, developing health plans, risk minimisation plans, understanding and provision for children with a medical diagnosis.
• Managing the overall image of the centre.
• Developing relationships that support and partner with families.
• Leading and supporting staff including awareness of staff well-being, co-ordinating and running monthly staff meetings and morning briefings.
• Attendance at monthly Directors meetings.
The Teacher Director is also responsible to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, applicable educational frameworks and outworking the location budget alongside the Head of Saints Academy. The Teacher Director must ensure and advocate, always, for best practice in all 7 Quality Areas being:
• Quality Area 1 - Educational program and practice.
• Quality Area 2 - Children's health and safety.
• Quality Area 3 - Physical environment.
• Quality Area 4 - Staffing arrangements.
• Quality Area 5 - Relationships with children.
• Quality Area 6 - Collaborative partnerships with families and communities.
• Quality Area 7- Governance and Leadership
Qualifications
• Degree-qualified Primary or Early Childhood Teacher or Diploma level qualification in Early Childhood (or similar)
• A current National Police Check (state/territory relevant)
• Working with Children’s Check
• ACECQA approved Child Protection qualifications (CHCPRT002, CHCPRT025 or CHCPRT026) or equivalent, or willingness to complete.
• ACECAQ approved First Aid qualifications including asthma and anaphylaxis
Essential Requirements
• Current ACECQA approved First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis
• Management and Emergency Asthma Management
• ACECQA approved Child Protection certificate
• Clear Working with Children check (or equivalent)
• Acceptance of role of Nominated Supervisor and Responsible Person under the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations. Signed appointment letter.
• Have adequate knowledge and understanding of the provision of education and care to children
