Position: Full time Registered Nurse (Division 1)
Location: Bargara, QLD (15 minutes from Bundaberg)
Salary: AUD $75,000 $95,000 per annum (Full-time, Division 1 RN)

We provide a wide range of general practice services, including skin cancer care, chronic disease management, minor procedures, aged care, and family health.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Division 1 Registered Nurse to join our GP practice team. The successful applicant will support high-quality patient care across clinical, preventive, and chronic disease management services. This role provides opportunities to work in a teaching-focused, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care & Procedures:
• Conduct patient assessments, including history taking, vital signs, and physical observations.
• Assist in the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic conditions under GP supervision.
• Administer medications, injections, and vaccinations according to prescriptions and protocols.
• Perform wound care, dressings, suture removal, and minor procedures.
• Conduct diagnostic tests, including ECGs, spirometry, and pathology specimen collection.
• Monitor patient progress and escalate concerns to GPs as appropriate.
Chronic Disease & Preventive Health Management:
• Support management of chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and COPD.
• Educate patients on lifestyle modifications, disease prevention, and self-management strategies.
• Develop and review individualized care plans in collaboration with GPs and allied health staff.
• Coordinate immunizations and preventative health screening programs.
Patient & Practice Support:
• Provide telephone triage and advice under GP guidance.
• Support telehealth consultations and home visit planning where applicable.
• Maintain accurate, timely patient records and documentation.
• Assist with patient recall systems, reminders, and follow-up care.
Teaching & Mentoring:
• Provide informal guidance and support to colleagues where needed, sharing clinical knowledge and best practices.
• Participate in professional development and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain high standards of patient care.
Administration & Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with infection control, WHS, and AHPRA standards.
• Maintain medical equipment and stock levels; order consumables as required.
• Assist in quality improvement activities, audits, and accreditation processes.
Essential Requirements:
• Registered as a Division 1 Nurse with AHPRA.
• Relevant nursing qualifications (Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent).
• At least 1 2 years of post-qualification experience in general practice, primary care, community health, and/or hospital settings.
• Strong clinical assessment, patient care, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to continuing professional development and adherence to AHPRA and clinic standards.
