Full Time Fleet Manager
SALARY $85,000 + SUPERANNUATION
SUMMARY
The Fleet Manager at NK Transport is responsible for overseeing, planning, and coordinating all aspects of the company’s transport fleet operations. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant management of vehicles, equipment, and drivers while optimising operational performance and delivering high-quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
• Fleet Operations & Planning
o Oversee, plan, and coordinate the day-to-day operations of NK Transport’s fleet to ensure timely, cost-effective, and safe service delivery.
o Develop and implement fleet management policies, maintenance schedules, and driver performance standards to optimise operational efficiency.
o Coordinate logistics, route planning, and transport schedules, ensuring goods are stored and transported under conditions that maintain quality.
• Vehicle & Equipment Management
o Manage the purchase, registration, insurance, servicing, and disposal of vehicles and transport equipment in line with company requirements and legal obligations.
o Organise maintenance programs and fuel management to ensure fleet reliability and readiness.
• Compliance & Safety
o Ensure fleet operations comply with transport laws, licensing, road safety, and occupational health and safety regulations.
o Monitor adherence to OH&S standards and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Financial & Operational Reporting
o Maintain accurate business and fleet records, including operational, maintenance, and financial data.
o Prepare reports and operational statements to inform management decision-making.
o Monitor transport costs, fuel usage, and route efficiency, recommending improvements to enhance performance and reduce expenses.
• Customer Liaison & Service
o Liaise with clients to determine transport requirements, provide advice on vehicle specifications, purchase or hire options, service rates, and contractual obligations.
o Handle customer complaints and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Team Leadership & Development
o Supervise and support drivers and transport staff, fostering a positive, professional, and safe working environment.
o Coordinate activities associated with arrivals, departures, loading, and unloading of vehicles.
Key Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of fleet management, transport regulations, and OH&S requirements.
• Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Financial acumen to manage budgets, monitor costs, and generate operational reports.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of drivers and transport staff.
Qualifications & Experience:
• At least 1 year experience as a Fleet Manager or equivalent logistic experience. Proven track record of managing vehicle operations, compliance, and customer service in a transport or logistics environment.
• Relevant diploma or advanced diploma in in logistics, transport, management or business.
