Healthy Kids Programs is currently hiring Group Teachers for our Before and After School Program for the 2025-2026 school year. We're looking for someone who loves working with children and is passionate about creating an environment where kids can thrive.
JOB STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
LOCATION: Frelinghuysen Elementary School in Newton, NJ
PAY: $15.49 - $17.00 per hour
HOURS: 7:30 - 8:30 am and 3:15 - 6:15 pm
JOB CONSISTS OF:
Guiding Compliance: Ensure that staff and program operations follow NJ state guidelines, Healthy Kids policies, and the expectations set by our host school.
Bringing the Fun: Lead exciting, hands-on activities inspired by the Healthy Kids Way Curriculum covering fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and more. And when it’s homework time, you’ll be the go-to homework hero!
Being a Role Model: Foster a safe, healthy, and joy-filled environment where children can learn and grow. Be the positive role model they’ll look up to every day.
Managing Like a Pro: Support the Site Director with key management tasks, including maintaining accurate attendance and registration records, and ensuring appropriate staffing levels to keep the program running efficiently. You’ll serve as the designated person in charge whenever the Site Director is off-site.
Keeping Everyone Connected: Maintain strong communication with parents and families through the Playground App to ensure everyone stays informed.
Team Collaboration: Communicate consistently and effectively with the Site Director, keeping them updated on daily happenings and addressing issues as they arise. By working together as a unified team, we’ll deliver the highest quality of care, promote a positive workplace, and stay proactive in overcoming challenges.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree in Child Development, Child Development Certificate.
OR
Six college credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development and Nine college credits in Education, Psychology, Health Care, Nursing, or any other field related to child growth or development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
You've got the green light from your doctor - medically fit to rock all the job duties and free of any communicable diseases including TB.
You’re warm, friendly, and upbeat. Exceptional people skills are your jam, whether it's with kiddos, parents, or fellow team members. Plus, you're professional, reliable, and always prompt.
You're ready to bend, stretch, lift, carry (up to 50 lbs.), and basically do whatever it takes to keep up with energetic kiddos!
