BERS Cleaning & Hauling is a company that specializes in providing commercial janitorial services. The types of facilities serviced are not restricted; offices, restaurants, schools, medical, or industrial. We also perform post-construction final cleans in both the commercial and residential spaces. Tell us your expectations, and we will work to exceed them. In addition, we perform residential cleaning services, junk removal, and small moving assistance depending on job suitability.

This is a hybrid remote role located in the Grand Rapids area for a Business Development Contractor. The contractor will be responsible for using their own sales process to generate recurring commercial accounts for BERS Cleaning & Hauling. The Business Development Contractor will bring their sales process in with them with full independence during their process, training cannot be provided to contractors.
Once a facility walkthrough is scheduled the handoff to BERS Cleaning & Hauling employees/owners occurs. We will handle pricing, proposal drafting, and contract drafting. Your only goal is sales, we handle the admin and account management after a contract is secured.

Your work will primarily be remote but you may choose to attend facility walkthroughs with BERS Cleaning & Hauling management as a part of your sales process. As a contractor you are fully free to determine how many hours you work, time of day, and how you go about the sales process. BERS Cleaning & Hauling employees/owners are not involved in the process until the facility walkthrough (and preparation). This will be further discussed in an interview.
With this position, you are not an employee -- you are a contractor. You are fully in control of your sales process, while BERS only controls the results -- the generation of recurring commercial accounts. How you achieve that result is entirely up to you.
As an independent contractor, you operate as a separate business entity responsible for your own expenses, tools, and methods of client acquisition. You are also free to engage in other sales or business activities for other clients.

This position is 1099 commission only and is based solely upon service contracts generated by the contractor. The commission structure will be discussed in an interview.
A 1099-NEC will be issued at year-end for your tax purposes, as a contractor we do not withhold any taxes for you, the contractor is solely responsible for all applicable taxes and withholdings.

Ability to independently generate recurring service contracts and facility walkthroughs
Previous success in sales, customer relations, or business development
Driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to work remotely (desktop or laptop)
Located around the Grand Rapids Metropolitan Area

Previous B2B sales experience
Bonus points for previous work in the janitorial services industry -- especially selling in it
Experience working with and/or selling to facility management/administration
