Job Description
Job Purpose:
To carry out routine electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in the DRI plant to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of motors, transformers, switchgear, MCC panels, VFDs, and lighting systems.
Troubleshoot and repair faults in electrical circuits, control panels, and power systems.
Inspect and test electrical equipment to ensure operational reliability and compliance with safety standards.
Assist engineers in installation, calibration, and commissioning of electrical systems and new equipment.
Maintain proper documentation of maintenance work, test readings, and spares usage.
Follow standard operating procedures and adhere strictly to lockout/tagout and permit-to-work systems.
Coordinate with operations and mechanical teams to minimize downtime during maintenance.
Maintain housekeeping and ensure safe working practices in all assigned areas.
Qualifications and Experience:
Ordinary National Diploma (ND), HND, Technical Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
3 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance within DRI, Steel, Cement, or other heavy process industries.
Sound knowledge of LT/HT systems, motor controls, and industrial wiring.
Ability to read electrical diagrams and use testing instruments.
Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and safety awareness skills.
