Job Details
The Machine Operator will play a key role in the chocolate production process, ensuring the smooth operation of machinery used in sourcing, processing, and packaging locally grown cocoa beans into high-quality chocolate products. The role involves setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining production equipment to achieve efficiency, safety, and product quality standards. The Machine Operator will also assist in cleaning, minor repairs, and adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.

Key Responsibilities
1. Raw Material Handling & Storage
• Receive and inspect raw cocoa beans upon delivery
• Weigh, record, and store beans in appropriate storage containers/sacks
• Monitor bean conditions (moisture, pests, contamination) regularly

2. Roasting
• Set up and operate the cocoa bean roasting equipment
• Monitor roasting time, temperature, and bean condition for consistency

3. Cracking & Winnowing
• Operate machines that crack roasted beans and separate nibs from husks
• Ensure efficient yield of clean nibs with minimal wastage

4. Cocoa Butter Pressing
• Set up and operate the cocoa butter press machine
• Monitor pressure and temperature during pressing to ensure quality yield

5. General Duties
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and food safety guidelines
• Assist in cleaning work areas, tools, and machines
• Support production team in inventory and reporting tasks

Requirements
1. Minimum HND technical or vocational training in food processing or machinery
2. 1 2 years of experience operating machinery in a food production or agricultural processing environment preferred
3. Mechanically inclined and comfortable operating factory equipment
4. Good record-keeping and basic math skills (for weights, temperatures, etc.)

Working Conditions
1. Factory shifts may include early mornings or weekends depending on production schedule
2. Training on machines and safety procedures will be provided
3. Work Model: Physical (Onsite)
4. Work Hours: Mon-Fri (8am 5pm) Sat (8am 2pm)
5. Candidates must reside within Ilupeju and its environs
