The role

As a Motor Mechanic, you will play a key role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. You will bring your technical expertise and passion for automotive engineering to deliver high-quality service and contribute to the ongoing success of the workshop.

Key responsibilities include:
• Conducting routine inspections and diagnostics to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
• Performing repairs and maintenance, including engine overhauls, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Using diagnostic equipment to accurately identify complex problems and recommend effective solutions.
• Following manufacturer specifications and industry standards to ensure quality and compliance.
• Maintaining detailed service and repair records.
• Staying up to date with automotive technology and industry advancements.
• Providing excellent customer service by clearly explaining repair procedures and recommendations.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised workspace.
• Collaborating with service advisors, technicians, and the parts department to ensure efficient workflows.
• Assisting with manufacturer diagnostic processes when required.
• Supporting and mentoring junior technicians and apprentices.

About you

To be successful, you will bring:
• Trade qualifications such as Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent).
• A minimum of two years’ post-trade experience.
• Strong time management, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated experience diagnosing faults in engines and electrical systems (preferred but not essential).
• Experience working with any of the group’s 14 represented brands (desirable but not essential).
• A willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.
• A team-oriented mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
