Job Description
Monarch Medical Billing is seeking a Full-Time Medical Biller with strong experience in home health and hospice billing. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for preparing and submitting claims, managing accounts receivable, and ensuring timely reimbursement from all payers.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and submit Medicare, Medi-Cal, and private insurance claims for home health and hospice services
Verify billing accuracy, required documentation, and coding before submission
Post payments and reconcile EOBs / ERAs in billing software or Excel
Research and resolve denied or unpaid claims promptly
Manage NOE/NOTR submissions and ensure compliance with CMS regulations
Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
Maintain accurate billing records and daily updates in shared Excel files
Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure all billing data is complete
Handle sensitive patient and financial data in compliance with HIPAA standards
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing for home health or hospice
Strong understanding of Medicare billing rules, NOE/NOTR, UB-04 forms, and related claim types
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, sorting/filtering, and data entry)
Typing speed of 50 WPM or higher
Experience with billing software / clearinghouses preferred (e.g., WellSky, Kinnser, Axxess, Brightree, etc.)
Knowledge of ICD-10 coding, payer rules, and claim follow-up procedures
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Requirements:
Must be able to work onsite, full-time in Encino, CA
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to meet daily deadlines
