Position: OT Technician

Role Overview
The OT Technician is responsible for assisting surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during surgical procedures, ensuring the operation theatre is prepared, sterile, and equipped. The role demands technical expertise, strict adherence to hospital protocols, and efficiency under high-pressure environments.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and maintain operation theatre before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Ensure sterilization of surgical instruments, equipment, and OT environment according to hospital protocols.
• Assist surgeons and anesthetists during operations by providing required instruments and materials promptly.
• Set up and operate OT equipment, suction machines, cautery devices, and other surgical instruments.
• Monitor inventory of surgical instruments, consumables, and OT supplies; ensure timely replenishment.
• Adhere strictly to infection control, hygiene, and biomedical waste disposal protocols.
• Support patient transfer to and from the OT, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate OT logs, instrument tracking, and procedure documentation.
• Participate in emergency surgical procedures and assist in life-saving interventions.
• Ensure compliance with hospital SOPs, NABH/JCI quality standards, and safety guidelines.

Key Skills & Competencies
• Proficiency in handling surgical instruments and OT equipment.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques, aseptic practices, and infection control.
• Ability to assist in various surgical procedures efficiently.
• Attention to detail, precision, and ability to work under pressure.
• Familiarity with hospital documentation systems and OT protocols.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Qualification & Experience
• Education: Diploma / Degree in Operation Theatre Technology or relevant certification.
• Experience: 1 3 years in hospital OT setting preferred.
• Certifications: BLS desirable; OT training certificate mandatory.
