Job Description
Represent clients in civil litigation and other legal proceedings in the areas of disability discrimination, gender discrimination, harassment, retaliation, sexual harassment, wrongful termination cases, wage and hour violations, class actions and California’s Private Attorney General Act (PAGA) cases. Utilize econometric principles to conduct data analytics for case analysis and strategy development, prepare legal pleading, motions and other legal documents, conduct legal research, manage discovery and assist senior attorneys in litigation matters.
Hybrid role; some work from home may be permitted each week with supervising attorney’s permission.
6 months of experience in a legal support role such as paralegal, law clerk, attorney or related.
Position requires experience/skills in the following:
- Assisting licensed lawyers in the State of California in at least 10 prior employment cases including wage and hour violations, class actions, PAGA cases, sexual discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, CalOSHA, labor law, trade secrets, arbitration, and mediation.
- Statistical/econometric analyses of employee and large comparator datasets ( 10k records) to determine exposure and settlement values for the client.
- Drafting of pleadings.
- Drafting and response to discovery.
- Document productions.
- Drafting of motions for summary judgment, discovery related motions, arbitration briefs, mediation briefs, case assessments, deposition outlines, and research memorandum.
Also requires passage of the California Bar Exam.
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA).
