Job Description

The College of Education and Arts of Lusail University in Doha Qatar. Lusail University is a newly established national/private university. It is seeking to expand its program widely and internationally. The university invites applications for an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor position in the Counselling and Mental Health program.

The program expects to conduct a search for the position immediately. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach various courses at introductory as well as upper-level courses. The position is for an Assistant Professor, ABDs will be hired as lecturer rank with higher teaching loads. The semester begins August 2023 and the teaching load for an Assistant Professor is four courses per semester. Applicants should have their Ph.D. in Mental Health Counseling/Mental Health/Clinical Psychology/Marriage and Family Therapy/Rehabilitation Counseling/School Counseling/Substance Abuse Counseling or closely affiliated field by January 2025, but ABD candidates may be considered. The teaching is in formal and standard Arabic and the candidate must be fluent in both English and Arabic. The terminal degree (PhD) from a UK / Canadian/ US/ Australian/ EU universities.

3. Preventive Counseling
4. Cognitive-behavioral Therapy
5. Mental Health and Contemporary Practices
6. Family Psychological Counseling
7. Assessment and Diagnosis in Counseling
8. Child Psychology
9. Educational Psychology

Successful candidate(s) will join a college with diverse backgrounds. Faculty are passionate about supporting the general university requirements, are aware of accreditation requirements and standards especially in addressing the counselling and mental health learning outcomes. The college will support diverse and inclusive pedagogies, we have a supportive and regularly provide feedback and mentoring faculty to foster pedagogical and professional development. New faculty should have knowledge in using learning management technologies and online teaching strategies.
