Job Title: Full time Analyst Programmer
Salary: $140,000 plus superannuation
Tasks:
Analyse user requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Analyse user requirements, design, develop, test and implement scalable software and data applications on-premises and in the cloud. Familiar with using Python, Java, SQL, Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, and related frameworks
Write and maintain clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
Develop and maintain APIs and integrations with third-party applications and services.
Build, optimise, and maintain database structures using SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
Collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet functional and performance requirements.
Conduct unit testing and participate in system/integration testing.
Support ongoing maintenance, debugging, and enhancement of existing systems.
Prepare technical documentation, including system designs, data flows, and user manuals.
Monitor application performance and suggest improvements for scalability and performance.
Develop automated testing scripts and conduct system regression testing to ensure code quality.
Design and integrate analytics and reporting solutions using Power BI, Tableau, and custom visualisation tools to support business decision-making.
Skills and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
More than two years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL
Exposure with ETL tools like Snowflake, Databricks and Informatica is an advantage
Basic understanding of big data technologies such as Spark
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure.
Solid understanding of database systems and SQL.
Experience with data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake and Redshift
Exposure to reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau and Looker
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Work in other office location if required
Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices experience with large amounts of Customer data in Financial Services or related field is an advantage
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment
Experience of maintaining technical documentation for various stakeholders from internal users to end users.
