Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Childcare Educator to join our team and provide exceptional care and education to children in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, a strong understanding of early childhood development, and the ability to create a safe and stimulating environment for young learners.
Duties:
• Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children in our care.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and development.
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Maintain open communication with parents, providing updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the childcare area, including toys, equipment, and facilities.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures to provide a secure environment for children.
• Familiarity with Alberta child care licensing and Child Care Regulations to ensure compliance with provincial standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide a safe, engaging, and nurturing space for children.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate educational activities.
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring their well-being.
• Foster positive relationships with parents, sharing updates and addressing concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of learning spaces and play areas.
• Ensure compliance with Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations.
• Support and travel to multiple Star Kids locations as required.
• Manage centre purchases for classroom materials, supplies, and activities.
Required Qualifications:
• Alberta Child Care Certification Level 3 (Program Supervisor level).
• Valid First Aid Certification (including child-specific first aid).
• Valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
• Previous experience in an early childhood setting.
• Knowledge of child development and behavior management techniques.
• Strong ability to educate and engage children in meaningful learning.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Background in early childhood education or related field, providing additional insight into child development and educational practices.
• Experience in educating and caring for young children, with a demonstrated ability to create enriching and stimulating learning experiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of children and respond to changing circumstances.
• Passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children and supporting their growth and development.
