Childcare Educator Sunvalley Infant Care (SECD)

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Overview:

Sunvalley Infant Care (SECD) is seeking a dedicated and qualified Childcare Educator to join our team and provide exceptional care and early learning experiences for children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, a strong understanding of early childhood development, and a commitment to creating a safe and stimulating environment where young learners can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.

Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and development.

Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Foster positive, open communication with parents, including regular updates and addressing concerns.

Maintain clean, organized learning spaces, including toys, equipment, and materials.

Ensure full compliance with Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations and health and safety standards.

Travel between Sunvalley Infant Care (SECD) locations as needed to support programming.

Manage centre purchases for classroom supplies and educational resources.

Required Qualifications:

Alberta Child Care Certification Level 3 (Program Supervisor level)

Valid First Aid Certification (including child-specific CPR)

Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search

Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation

Experience working in a licensed early childhood setting

Strong understanding of child development and positive behaviour guidance

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field

Proven ability to create engaging, child-centered learning experiences

Strong team collaboration and interpersonal skills

Flexibility to adapt to daily program needs and scheduling changes

Genuine passion for early childhood education and making a positive impact
