Multicom Resources is a Queensland-based exploration and minerals refining company focused on discovering and developing world-class mineral deposits. Among its key projects is the Saint Elmo Project, located in the Northwest Minerals Province of Queensland. This project is advancing the production of vanadium and high-purity alumina, essential resources for global technology manufacturers.
About the role:
As an Electrician (General) at Scidell in the Saint Elmo Mine, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems critical to the operation and construction of the mine. Working under the supervision of the Electrical Lead, you will ensure the electrical infrastructure is compliant, reliable, and safe. This includes fixed plant equipment, lighting systems, power distribution, and temporary site installations to support both operational and project phases.
This is a full-time role based at the Saint Elmo Mine site near Julia Creek, Queensland.
Key Responsibilities:
-Install, test, and maintain electrical systems and components, including switchboards, cabling, motors, and lighting.
-Diagnose and repair faults in electrical systems to minimise downtime.
-Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on plant and site electrical equipment.
-Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
-Ensure compliance with relevant Australian electrical standards and site safety protocols.
-Assist with temporary electrical setups for new plant installations and construction activities.
-Liaise with supervisors and engineers to resolve electrical issues efficiently.
-Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities.
Key Requirements:
-Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as an electrician in an industrial, mining, or heavy infrastructure environment.
-Trade Qualification in Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.
-Current QLD Electrical Work Licence (Unrestricted).
-Proven ability to install, maintain, and fault-find low-voltage systems and industrial electrical equipment.
-Familiarity with AS/NZS 3000 and other relevant Australian electrical regulations.
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote site environment.
-Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and operational reliability.
