About the role:
As a Mechanical Fitter at Multicom Resources, you will play an essential role in maintaining the operational excellence of the Saint Elmo Mine's processing plant. Reporting to the Construction Manager, this position involves performing critical maintenance and repair tasks on mechanical-powered equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless operation of one of Australia's largest vanadium mines, a project of national significance.
This is a full-time role based on-site at the Saint Elmo Mine.
Key Requirements:
-Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade, specializing in Mechanical Fitting.
-Extensive experience as a Fitter in a complex processing plant or refinery.
-Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in maintaining and repairing plant machinery and equipment.
-Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
-Effective communication skills to collaborate with the maintenance team and supervisors.
-Commitment to safety protocols and the ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening.
Key Responsibilities:
-Carry out regular upkeep and servicing of mechanical-powered equipment, such as trucks, generators, and heavy machinery, to maintain reliability and extend their working life.
-Identify and resolve faults in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools, ensuring swift and effective repairs to minimize delays.
-Replace worn-out or malfunctioning parts like bearings, gaskets, or fuel injectors, ensuring -accurate installation and calibration for smooth operation.
-Conduct scheduled checks and servicing, including oil and filter changes, to prevent unexpected breakdowns and improve equipment durability.
-Work in compliance with safety standards, maintaining a clean and hazard-free workspace, and using protective equipment when required.
-Keep precise records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities for transparency and adherence to regulations.
-Perform diagnostic assessments and tests to uncover underlying issues, analyzing results to devise effective solutions.
-Properly use, maintain, and organize tools and diagnostic equipment, ensuring they are always in good working condition.
-Actively engage in professional development to stay informed on new technologies, methods, and industry trends, contributing to continual improvement.
