Role Overview:
Join Calibre’s dynamic team, responsible for executing a variety of essential tasks as a Mechanical Engineering Technician, including:
Key Responsibilities:
-Applying mechanical engineering principles and techniques to assist in the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems and components.
-Conducting tests and analyses of mechanical systems, including performance, strength, and durability.
-Preparing drawings, specifications, and reports under the guidance of engineers.
-Assisting with the installation, calibration, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and machinery.
-Troubleshooting mechanical issues and proposing solutions.
-Inspecting and testing mechanical equipment and systems to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
-Collaborating with engineers and other technical staff on projects.
-Preparing estimates of quantities and costs of materials and equipment, and time required for production.
-Supervising the construction, installation, and modification of mechanical assemblies, components, machines, and systems.
-Adhering strictly to workplace health and safety procedures.
Requirements:
-Relevant Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
-Ability to pass a comprehensive Mine Site Medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
-Current or willingness to obtain High Risk Work Licences (HRWL) EWP, LF (Desirable: DG, RB/RI).
-Willingness to complete Mount Isa Mines mandatory training and courses as required.
-Proven experience in heavy industrial, construction, or mining environments with strong emphasis on safety, quality, and compliance.
-Familiarity with working in mining or heavy industrial environments, with a strong focus on safety and compliance.
-Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
-Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
