The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Sheetmetal Worker to join Oxworks. The role is classified under ANZSCO 322211 Sheetmetal Worker, making it suitable for both local and visa-sponsored applicants.

Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
1.Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components used in fencing, gates, screens, and balustrade systems using tools such as guillotines, folders, rollers, and brake presses.
2.Perform MIG and TIG welding operations on a range of metals including aluminium, stainless steel, and mild steel.
3.Operate CNC and manual machinery for cutting, bending, and shaping sheet metal to precise specifications.
4.Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job specifications to ensure high-quality fabrication outcomes.
5.Carry out quality control inspections to ensure all components meet Oxworks’ manufacturing standards and Australian regulations.
6.Assist in prototype development and custom fabrication projects for residential and commercial installations.
7.Conduct maintenance checks on equipment and report any faults or required repairs to supervisors.
8.Collaborate with production supervisors and other tradespeople to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion.
9.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with WHS requirements.

Required Skills and Experience:

1.Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade or equivalent trade qualification.
2.Minimum 3 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, including welding and machine operation.
3.Proven skills in MIG and TIG welding across a variety of metals and thicknesses.
4.Competency in operating manual and CNC machinery used for sheet metal processing (e.g., press brakes, laser cutters, plasma cutters).
5.Ability to read and interpret detailed technical drawings and work to exact specifications.
6.Strong understanding of metal properties, fabrication techniques, and manufacturing tolerances.
7.Familiarity with WHS procedures and safe work practices in a fabrication or workshop environment.
8.Ability to work both independently and within a team to meet production goals and deadlines.
9.High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
10.Experience in architectural metalwork, fencing components, or prefabricated outdoor structures is highly regarded.
