Meat Flour Wine is a premium meat and wine restaurant known for its focus on quality produce, professional service, and a strong dining culture. We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to join our leadership team and support the ongoing success of the venue.
About the role
This is a full time, permanent position with rostered morning or afternoon shifts. The Restaurant Manager plays a key role in the daily operation of the restaurant, leading front of house staff, working closely with the kitchen team, and ensuring the venue operates smoothly, safely, and profitably.
Key responsibilities
• Plan menus in consultation with the Head Chef and kitchen team
• Coordinate and oversee special functions, private bookings, and events
• Arrange procurement and pricing of food, beverage, and wine within budget constraints
• Monitor and maintain accurate stock levels and transaction records
• Ensure the restaurant complies with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations and remains clean, organised, and welcoming
• Engage with guests and assess satisfaction with food and service, responding to feedback and resolving issues
• Recruit, train, supervise, and lead front of house and support staff
• Manage day to day operational requirements and address ad hoc issues as they arise
• Assist with bookings, greet customers, and support floor service during busy periods
Who we are looking for
• Minimum 5 years proven experience in a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Hands on approach with strong attention to detail
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays
• Sound understanding of compliance, food safety, and workplace health and safety
• Diploma in Hospitality Management or Business Management is desirable
