About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Pressure Welder to join our team. The role primarily involves high-quality welding and fabrication of pressure-retaining components used in hot water systems, hydraulic pipework, and pump assemblies. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out precision welds on a range of materials, ensuring compliance with relevant pressure welding standards and codes. You will work closely with technical staff to support the assembly, installation, and maintenance of pressure systems for our commercial and industrial clients.

Key Responsibilities:
• Weld and fabricate high-pressure components and pipework using TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), and Stick (SMAW) welding processes in accordance with Australian Standards and relevant codes.
• Fabricate and weld structural frames, manifolds, and enclosures for hot water systems and cold water booster pump packages.
• Perform copper pipe brazing for plumbing and pump systems as required.
• Assemble and test pump packages and industrial units to ensure mechanical integrity and functionality.
• Assemble, align, and join components using welding and mechanical fastening methods to ensure leak-proof and durable installations.
• Repair or modify metal components and hydraulic frames during maintenance or breakdowns.
• Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition and ensure strict adherence to WHS and company safety procedures.
• Participate in system commissioning by assisting in pressure testing, leak detection, and support structure verification.
• Operate forklifts and lifting equipment to safely move materials, pipe spools, and pump components within workshop and site environments.
• Interpret and apply technical drawings, welding symbols, and specifications for layout and welding operations.
• Conduct weld preparation, fit-up, alignment, and post-weld cleaning.
• Ensure completed welds pass visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) requirements in line with quality and safety standards.
• Assist with minor mechanical fitting tasks, including bolting flanges, checking tolerances, and supporting on-site installations.
• Ensure all work complies with WHS standards, relevant codes, and company policies.

Requirements:
• Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade or an equivalent welding/fabrication qualification (mandatory).
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in copper, aluminium, and stainless steel welding and fabrication.
• Strong working knowledge of welding techniques for pressure systems and familiarity with AS 1796 or other relevant welding certifications (highly regarded).
• Demonstrated experience in copper brazing and welding of steel and stainless steel components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, plans, and work instructions.
• Experience operating forklifts (current licence preferred) and basic workshop equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in pump assembly and piping installations is desirable.
• High attention to detail, strong commitment to quality workmanship, and awareness of industrial safety and WHS procedures.
