Harvesting Labourers

Sunrise Holding, Ltd., located in Abbotsford, BC, is seeking 20 Farm Labourers to work at the farm and nursery. We are offering full-time positions.

The job duties are as follows:

• Dig, cut, and transplant plants, fruits, and flowers.
• Mix and prepare soil for planting.
• Plant blueberries, flowers, and vegetables.
• Plant bulbs and seeds.
• Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings.
• Prune plants, including removal of shoots with mildew, if there are any.
• Install plant support system and tie plants to support, as needed.
• Water and tend to the plants as directed.
• Maintain, clean, and store farm tools after use.
• Report signs of insect or disease damage.
• Cut and prepare harvested fruit and flowers.
• Prepare plants for winter.
• Report to and follow the directions of the supervisor.
• Keep plant beds free of weeds that compete with plant growth.
• Other general duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Ability to lift heavy loads. Being exposed to different weather conditions. Previous experience as a Farm Labourer would be an asset, but is not required. The ability to communicate in basic English is preferred.

We are willing to train the selected candidates.

Our farm is located at 1264 McCallum Rd, Abbotsford, BC V2S 8A3.

We are offering $17.85/hr for 40 hours/week.
