Job Title: Full-time Chef
Salary: $73,150 plus superannuation

Duties and Skills

• Prepare and cook meals, and supervise the preparation of meals by kitchen staff
• Seasoning & portioning a variety of dish and carving and trimming foods to ready them for different dishes.
• Planning daily menus and specials, and ensure presentation is of highest order
• Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
• Lead, guide and inspire the kitchen team to deliver the best results
• Quality control the freshness of food and ingredients
• Ensuring the workplace is clean and hygiene and always meet the standards
• Compliance with OH&S and Food Safety standards
• Work alongside the management team to plan menus and costing
• Stock orders, stock control and food circulation for maximising their life span
• Train and lead subordinates on daily tasks and provide mentorship as required

Job Requirements

• Have a diploma level of qualification in the relevant field
• Have 1 year’s professional experience or more.
• Are available across the working week including weekends and nights.
• Offer proven ability to prioritise, set goals and have the determination to achieve them.
• Possess a thorough understanding of food safety and HACCP.
• Understand cost control, time management, prioritization, and cost-efficient procurement practices.
• Good organisation skills with the ability to work within a fast paced environment
• Passion for developing innovative menu items.
• Strict compliance towards food safety
