Staff Accrual Accountant REMOTE - for global law firm. This is a fully remote position. This role is responsible for supporting the Accounting Manager with general ledger accounts reconciliation, analyzing monthly financial statements for accrual books, and preparing accrual financial schedules. This position also supports the Director of Tax/Payroll and the Director of Accounting.
Responsibilities: Prepare monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts. Respond to daily general ledger queries, provide information, and input journal entries. Assist with month-end close of accrual books, record month-end accruals. Prepare monthly/annual accrual financial statements for required offices. Provide detailed information and reports. Assist in the interim and year-end audit processes. Prepare schedules, as required. Provide information to auditors; respond to and research questions from auditors. Assist in the annual tax process by providing accrual financial statements and reports. Assist the Directors in responding to questions in this area.
Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting. At least two years of experience in general ledger/financial reporting area, with accrual accounting experience at a law firm or other professional services organization. At least one year of experience in multi-currency conversion. Public accounting or audit experience. CPA or CPA candidate ideal. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong general knowledge of accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, expense variations. Ability to work independently, under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility with work assignments. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Proven problem-solving skills. Salary is commensurate with experience 50k 80k depending on skill level, education and location where candidate lives/works.
