About the Job:
This position will be responsible for the design and development of new electric forklift systems and components. It requires a goal-driven and detail-oriented person with excellent communication skills and technical knowledge. The ideal candidate will be an energetic and adaptive person that contributes strong technical expertise to a fast-paced engineering team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Interpret product requirements to develop functional specifications and system requirements
Conduct feasibility studies on new features and technology
Participate in wire harness design reviews to ensure hardware compatibility with system design and layout
Select motor drivers, controllers, sensors, and/or other electrical components that meet system requirements
Author specifications documentation to component suppliers
Guide and support the development of forklift system requirements, system design and related downstream requirements.
Create and update documentation including design detail, DFMEA, DVP&R, test plans, test/calibration procedures, product manuals and other technical documents
Calibrate system functions and performance using prototype vehicles
Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software components of controllers and other electronic devices related to OEM forklifts
Maintain and execute detailed schedules that support overall project schedules
Effectively communicate development status to management
Spearhead the technical discussions with suppliers (Internal/external) on issues and resolutions.
Manage aspects of vehicle bill of material(BOM) and report system/component costs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, cost, quality and delivery of new products
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelors in Electrical/ Electrical & Computer engineering or related.
3+ years of full time Electrical Systems Engineering experience.
What You’ll Need for Success:
Proficient in Microsoft office software (Excel/ Word/ Visio/ Project etc).
Proficient in system integration interface tools (CANalyzer, CANape, CANbus etc).
Understanding of serial communication, Vehicle dynamics, Controller hardware and software.
Knowledge and experience in System design, System diagrams.
Excellent communication skills and desire to work with team.
Excellent problem solving skills and multi-tasker.
High level of interpersonal skills and works effectively with cross-cultural teams
