Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter/Foreman to lead and oversee work on construction sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising a team and ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and supervise a team of construction workers.
• Read and interpret scope of works and project specifications.
• Coordinate work to ensure the efficient flow of repair tasks on the job site.
• Install, assemble, and construct wood structures, framing, drywall, cabinetry, and other carpentry work as required.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work site.
• Inspect work in progress and completed projects for quality and accuracy.
• Manage inventory of materials and tools, ensuring proper maintenance and storage.
• Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and other teams to ensure timely project completion.
• Train and mentor apprentices and junior staff.
• Monitor project progress and resolve any issues or delays.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, time spent, and materials used.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a carpenter and leadership.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret scope of works and project specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• In-depth understanding of construction safety standards and building codes.
• Ability to problem-solve and make decisions quickly.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must have valid South African identification.

Working Conditions:
• The position will require working in various locations.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Frequent lifting and physical labour required.
