Redstone Commodity Search are working with a leading agricultural company looking to hire a Genetic Program Manager to join their wheat team in Colorado.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks
Leading and coordinating the wheat breeding programme to deliver the key breeding milestones, designing a concept-to-commercialisation’ path of new product launches
Head up the execution of scientific studies (such as grain science, milling science / food science, agronomy, or plant science) with both public and private research institutions into wheat breeding and other plant-based solutions.
Collaborate with the Research and Development team to expand key technical materials and studies in nutrition, sensory and performance to support expansion
Actively develop and expand a broad network to support the current and future development of the programme
Role reports to Senior Director of Research and development
Key Qualifications / Experience
At least 8 years’ experience within development of, or, commercializing wheat-based solutions and other types of grain (such as wheat, corn, barley, oats, rice, millet, cereals)
Master’s degree or higher in a related field (such as grain science, milling science / food science, agronomy or plant science)
Must have a strong technology understanding relating to the field (such as breeding tools, ingredient functionality, product applications and process development)
Established connections within Wheat trade and scientific based organisations are a major plus (such as NAWG, WQC, NAMA, Cereal & Grains, USDA)
Role is to be located in Denver, Colorado. Remote working is an option with regular travel to headquarters. Must have ability to travel around 30% for business.
