Waikiki Health is now recruiting for a full-time Health Equity Health Educator. The Health Educator will provide preventative health education on HIV, Hepatitis C, & STDs to clients enrolled in substance abuse treatment programs on the State of Hawaii. Provide confidential HIV and Hepatitis C outreach, testing, and linkage to community resources.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Present HIV/Hepatitis C/STD prevention education to groups of up to 85 or more patients and encourage HIV/Hepatitis C/STD testing.
• Offer Case Management Services and/or linkages to care to all Hepatitis C and or HIV positive patients.
• Regularly reads, interprets, inputs, and maintains accurate data to ensure and concise reporting, billing and quality improvement data for HEIS/EIS services. Software programs include: WITS, APHIRM, ATHENA Net, and other Windows based programs.
• Link patients to appropriate HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C medical providers and community resources.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Valid Hawaii State Driver’s License with 5 year history record.
• Phlebotomy trained or willing to be trained.
• CPR/AED/First Aid Certified or willing to be certified.
• Must have the ability to correspond through email, refer to online schedules and databases.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must be able to complete Outreach Testing Linking (OTL) training provided by the State of Hawaii Department of Health.
• Must be able to travel inter-island
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school university in social work or related field and appropriate work experience.
• Teaching or public speaking experience required.
• Case Management experience required.
• Experience working with HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C and/or diverse populations (substance abuse, mentally ill, homeless, crisis) preferred.
